IPL 2021 – Biggest Cricketing Carnival To Kick Off On 9th April In Chennai!


The 14th edition of World’s biggest Cricketing Carnival, IPL 2021, is all set to kick off in style from 9th April, 2021 when the defending champion, Mumbai Indians takes on Royal Challenger Bengaluru at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The nearly two-month long Indian Premier League will see Eight Franchise teams take on each other for the coveted trophy with the Grand Gala Finale scheduled on 30th May, 2021 at newly renovated largest stadium in the world, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Notably the event returns back to India after a gap of a year as the last edition, IPL 2020, was held in UAE because the Indian government denied the clearance then owing to Covid-19. However, IPL 2021 too will be held behind closed doors with no spectators at stadium. The league games, Play-offs and Final will be held at six venues that include – Mumbai, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai. With India grappling with the intensified 2nd wave of Corona and many cities are under night curfew, partial lockdown or complete lockdown, the danger looms over IPL 2021 too with several players & supporting staff unfortunately diagnosed with Covid-19, it will be really difficult task to run the show for such an extended duration. Though, as spectator and cricket lover, Indian fans would be expecting to see the uninterrupted & successful battle between Bat & Bowl amid the pandemic.
