This year too amidst plethora of International bowlers like Pat Cummins, Rashid Khan, Chris Woakes and others, its actually three Indian players who have taken the top-3 slots. With six-wickets so far from three matches, Avesh Khan is at the 3rd spot, while Rahul Chahar is at 2nd place with seven wickets from three outings. Trent Boult & Andre Russel with six wickets apiece are at 4th & 5th position in current ranking for the Purple Cap.
However, the surprising & most impressive bowler this season thus far is Royal Challenger Bengaluru’s spearhead Harshal Patel who is leading the pack with nine-wickets. He is one of the main factor responsible for his franchise’s brilliant start as it begins the IPL 2021 campaign in style registering 1st ever three consecutive wins (at the beginning) in the tournament’s history.
